This is probably a long shot, but I'm wondering if there are any living descendants of Reverend Joseph and Julia (Wilson) Rogers? From what I read, they had 5 children, but I'm now sure if any of them lived long enough to have any offspring. I know they lived up at Ft. Peck, Montana for 40 years, ministering, then I believe came back to the Flandreau area sometime before they passed. They lived from about 1860ish to probably 1935ish. Julia was the daughter of John and Sarah Wilson. His Indian name was Tatecanhpi.

Thanks for the info.! I was afraid of that. Do you know where Esther Greeley is buried? I know he's buried next to her, even though he has a headstone in Flandreau with his first wife. Do you happen to know anything about Julia's sister Ellen (Wilson) Jones? I don't believe she had any children that survived her either, but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Where can I find records about these people?

Ellen Wilson was b.@ 1857 Mn. She wed William Jones(b. @ 1849MN) in 1874 in MN. William was a reader for the Episcopal church at Flandreau. theirs sons were: Benjamin b. @1892 Flandreau william b.@1894 Flandreau Amos b. @ 1895 Flandreau henry b. @1900 flandreau Re. Estther Greeley ,your question is confusing. if she's buried next to him then she must be in the same cemetery as Joseph is buried in.

Thanks! I'll have to start searching for some descendants of the Jones family now. I was going to post pictures of the headstone at Flandreau where Julia Rogers is buried. She died before Joseph, and I'm thinking they must have purchased this headstone ahead of time, because his name is on there along with their picture. The same one in the link you sent me. However, because he remarried, he is actually buried with his second wife Esther. I think that might be in Sisseton. Thanks for all you do Despi!

sominex: you are most welcome. When I had done an initial search for Rev. Rogers, I only knew that his wife was Julia Wilson. while I was helping some Redwing Descendents,I learned that Julia had had a daughter with David Hope(yankton Agency Sioux), and that she had a sister named Ellen. When you mentioned her married name, I about fell out of my chair,as I had her in my files with the name of her spouse and Children.thanks so much for posting your request, now I can update Julia's record to include ellen's information as a coss reference.

REALLY?! I haven't heard that before ( about Julia having a daughter with David Hope) Do you know if there are any descendants from that daughter? Who she might have married? I know there are a couple of Julia Wilsons out there during this time period. Thanks for the "findagrave" tip. I'll try that out. Also, Joseph Rogers wouldn't be my blood relative, just his wife Julia. But thanks for the tip, I would love to find any family history that might come from this search.

sominex: Julia Wilson's daughter with Dvid Hope was Lizzy Hope. Lizzy married ? Cook. That was all I was able to find out from the Redwing descendents. i checked what Cooks I had in my files and did not have a Cook who married Lizzy. You might contact kit Redwing at redwing@siouxlan.net for info onLizzy. Tell Kit I referred you.

Thanks again! I just e-mailed Kit. I'll let you know if I hear anything back. I am pretty sure there were 2 Julia Wilsons that lived back then. I'm wondering if the one you speak of is the same one I'm related to? I've never heard about this marriage to a David Hope, or any other children except those she had from Joseph Rogers. It'll be interesting to find out!
